Tranny Mount Gone?

The other day I noticed my gear shift was moving. When I would start from first gear (not performance) it would come up toward me about 2 inches, when I would shift to second it would thud(for a lack of a better word) back down and then it would stay down like it normally would. Im wondering if this is a transmission mount, or possibly motor mount going?

Re: Tranny Mount Gone?

when u drive regularly and let it shift at 2k or anywhere over.........if you hear a thud from something hitting the underside of the car

its your tranny mount.

Never heard of what you are describing, however it makes sense that thats what it would be, because it is connected to your tranny

just get under there and check it out (you will know if its broke or half way split).......i went with a polyeurathane one....vibrates when its cold out and at 1000rpms..........

doesnt bother me, because i know it will last............just depends on what you prefer

Re: Tranny Mount Gone?

VERY EASY............just need an extra jack to hold the tranny up while you drop the tranny cross brace
