Tranny Help...............Please!!!!!!!
Tranny Help...............Please!!!!!!!
Well heres the thing i just registered, but a few weeks ago my buddy posted a thread for me.Telling about the problems i was haveing, well they've gotten worse short of a diagnostic im preety sure the trannys screwed. Its a 94 Z 4l60e.I didnt title the car that quickly i got it preety cheap because of a loud thud it made when it shifted (broken tranny mount) but my woes continued when i brought it home and did a lil joyrideing and found out that if you went through the gears manualy it would slip from first to second, but leaving it in drive or over drive it did fine.Well i finally titled it and took it out on the highway it did good until i turned around straightened it up and launched it.From about a 10-15 roll it took of like it should hit second(thump tranny mount im a procrastinator what can i say)it kept going second, then third the rpms sky rocketed and it hit really hard then it stuckin third.Had to limp it home.Like i said im no expert no where near it as a matter of fact but im preety sure the trannys done.Sorry about the book on the whole ordeal but i wanted to tell everything to give the more experince a better idea of whats going on.Could the tranny mount been the cause of this.I have no idea how long its been like this. The original owner let the car sit for the part for 2 years soooo I dont know. But if the tranny is screwed whats my best option i see some of you guys do rebuilds and know whats going on i wanna leave it stock for a while until i iron out some other bugsBut its gonna be a major bolt on till the moter gives the a build so I need to know build for the future or get a diagnostic and build it back stock for now.The internal build will be a while but ive allready ordered some bolt on parts i dont wanna run into this agian if i rebuild it what kind of power range am i looking at for a stock to hold and if bolts are definatley in the future should i have it built stronger if any of you guys know anyone in the southern Virginia.Northern N.C area that would do stock or moded reuilds let me know or give me and idea to what in the he#$ is going on,

It sounds like both your 2-4 band and 3-4 clutches are on their way out.
We're located in Delaware. We have customers all over the US. It would probably only run you about $50 each way to ship it to us.
I'd go with our "race" rebuild, which goes for $1000 + hard parts (if any). That will get you a 4L60E with many major upgrades that will hold up to a bolt-on motor. Our Pro race build includes the 4L65E front support, 4L65E hardened output shaft, and steel input piston set. Early 4L60E's are notorious for cracking the aluminum forward piston. The stell input piston set replaces all the aluminum pistons in the input drum with steel one's. The 4L65E output shaft, and front support become a neccessity when 60 ft. times get down in the 1.5X range.
There's alot of useful information on our web page, if you'd like to check us out.
