Tranny Going?

Well, the past couple of days the car has been acting odd with shifting. Mind you, I have a 1994 Pontiac Firebird Formula With a Transgo Shift kit and 3.73 gears.

So the wife starts it up And it automatically goes into third gear for some reason, Id know if it went into first then to second cause there is a big jerk in between those two since the previous owner set the shift kit like that. So I drive it home going through the gears. 1st is ok. Its 1st to second that is really a problem. It doesn't want to seem to go into second. So by that time I have to put it into either 3rd or D. Anybody know if the Tranny is going or what the hell is wrong with it? It's starting to worry me alot.

Any codes? 3rd gear starts is "limp mode", which usually means you should be getting a code.

Actually, I have no codes at all. I don't really get it. No SES light at all. Just a "Low Oil" is all. But when i checked the oil, It was fine.

What Code should i be getting how ever for this 3rd gear "limp" stall?

Are you sure you don't have 2nd and 3rd gear? This will cause it to not shift when you move the shifter from 1st to 2nd, because it's already in 2nd.
If this is the case, I'd suspect a bad "A" solenoid. I'd really suggest getting the car scanned.
