Question Tranny gods, in here plz

I have a 94 TA w/ a 4l60. The clip on the servo broke and I pulled the trans before I found that out. I put new frictions & steels in it since I had it out, and put a vette servo in it. After about I week I noticed that when I wound out 1st gear(in low 1) and let off the gas, there was no drag, almost as if it were in neutral. It also does it in 2nd and 3rd in manual gears. But in Drive it seems fine. I noticed that if i'm driving down the road and pull it into 1st, I feel a little bump, but there's still no drag. I did turn the EPC up a hair when I rebuilt the trans. I've tried flushing it, took the pan down and changed the filter, and pulled the epc out to make sure the screen wasn't clogged. It upshifts fine but seems to hang in gear a little bit as you let off the gas. It also seems to shift into 2nd a little harder at part throttle. The main thing i'm worried about is there being no drag in low gears. I don't know if any of this is related though. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx, Chris.

Your over-run clutches aren't coming on for some reason...Either they're worn, a seal is cut, the piston is cracked, or the over-run lugs are broken off the input sprag.

I agree, the overrun clutch assembly is the problem here. This requires the transmission to be torn down to determine what happened exactly.

How far into the tranny is this? Where is the seal? Piston? What does the overrun clutch assembly look like ? Isn't that something that would've been replaced with the rebuild kit? I didn't use all of the seals that were in the kit, but replaced the ones I had out. It wouldn't have anything to do with the servo would it ? Cause I'm still waiting for the billet replacement like the one that was in it to arrive.

Shouldn't have anything to do with the servo. The over-run clutches and input sprag are in the forward drum. This is the large aluminum drum with the input shaft in it. The over-run clutches are the 2 clutches all the way at the bottom of that drum...Under the 3-4's and forwards. The O/R piston is the first piston you'll see that's right under the spring pack. Pull all those pistons out and check for a cracked piston, or a cut lip seal. If the O/R friction wear excessively, the piston will over-travel and cut the seal when the piston returns.
Your input sprag is the one way clutch assembly that serves as the center hub for the input and O/R clutches. If you flip it over, you'll see a snap ring that holds it together. take that snap ring out and check the lugs in the O/R part of the sprag. They are known for breaking. *CAUTION* If you take the sprag all the way apart, note is rotation direction! The forward hub should freewheel clockwise while holding the O/R hub...This is when looking at it from the forward hub side.

I think you'll find your problem somewhere in one of these places.

Re: Tranny gods, in here plz

So, pretty much, it's way down in there huh? I don't know jack about transmissions except how to take em out 'n' put em in. This was my first attempt at a rebuild, and with little help. So basically I just pulled the parts out and put new ones in. What was what I had no clue. Do you think it'll last the way it is? It doesn't slip, and it seems to operate normally under "normal driving" conditions. I don't have anything else to drive, and getting to work on my own car at work is like pulling teeth. Sorry for all the dumb questions, but this is definitely one thing I don't know anything about.

UPDATE: Last week I lost 3rd and 4th gear. So I had the trans rebuilt and the pistons were in fact cracked. I think he also put a wider band in, but I haven't got it back yet. Thanx for the help guys. I appreciate it.
