Tranny fluid change

Im going to drop my pan and change the filter and put some newer fluid in this weekend. The gasket i got from autozone is cork. Do i have to soak it or something when i put it on, or just wet it a little with fluid? Any sites online showing how to do this? I have a haynes manual, but thats in my car at my fathers shop, so id rather just look online for the time being. thanks

Also i noticed when i have the front of my car up on jackstands, there is a sligh leak out the tail end of the tranny where the driveshaft goes to. Is this normal, or is the gasket back there ****ting out on me.

NO!! don't soak it at all, install it dry, tighten the mounting bolts to 8 ft bpounds, no more, go around the bolts twice. You shouldn't have any fliud leaks anywhere, needs a rear seal ..I think...Hope this helps...Dave
