Tranny cooler Question

I am installing a tranny cooler for my 1994 LT1 Camaro. My radiator is for a standard so this is my only cooler for the tranny. Is it alright to just run my lines directly to the cooler itself and use it as the main cooler? I guess I am asking would this be enough to cool my transmission. I am only using it as a daily driver. It does have a shift kit.

Re: Tranny cooler Question

Yes. I run mine to the aftermarket cooler then the stock cooler in rad, then back to tranny. I did this so the rad cooler would stabilize the temp from the aftermarket cooler. Some do it the opposite and others don't use the rad cooler at all. Installing a tranny temp guage will let you monitor the temp so you can see if the cooler is doing a good enough job.
