Traction Control

Re: Traction Control
If your car has Traction Control you can get a module for 50.00 from SLP or Thunder Racing that will reverse it.
That way it will be normally off when you start the car and you have to turn it on.
I hated having to turn it off every time I started the car and haven't used it at all since I put in the module.

Re: Traction Control
The traction control system on my car saved my *** a couple times driving in the rain. I have to say that this system works very well.
I never bothered getting that switch to reverse it but I do turn it off most of the time.
I utilizes the same wheel sensor as your abs system and when the sensor goes, so does your traction control.

Re: Traction Control
The reverse module only works on 97 and up cars.
I think I turned mine on once or twice when it was raining really hard.
I have driven my car in the winter and may again this year. The Traction Control makes getting the car going more dangerous IMO. With 4 snow tires and sandbags in the trunk my car tracks pretty good in the snow.
However you have to spin the wheels to get into traffic often enough and it can leave you a sitting duck for being hit when it kicks your foot off the pedal and you lose time disengaging it so you can go.
Once going on a snowy or rainy road it's ok.

2cub49, I hear what you're saying about driving in the snow.....I've driven mine for the past 2 winters with no (or very few) problems. While YES it's a b!tch to get moving initially, you do need to get the wheels moving, and it does take a balance of spinning and letting off the gas, but as long as you know how to control the car, then there's no problem. Truthfully, I feel like my car stops and steers better than anything I've ever driven in the winter!
