Torque Converter help

OK I have searched and searched until I am ready to toss the computer across the room...so help me out...Please !

I pulled my cover off to check out torque Converter and the fact to get it out of the way as going to replace oil pan gasket. Found a light blue converter but nothing that I can see on it right now and unable to turn it as entire front accessories are off of the car as I am doing new opti/plugs/wires and timing chain cover gasket. So who makes this color blue torque converters??? Unable to contact previous owner to find out. Any ideas?

Dave

Re: Torque Converter help

If there's no markings on it there's absolutely no way to determine what kind of converter it is. Just about every transmission shop around will paint their customer's converters a color of their choice.

Re: Torque Converter help

Yeah about all I can say is it's not the original factory one, it was not painted.

Re: Torque Converter help

I was hoping like Vigilante where theirs are purple that maybe another manufacturer produced theirs a certain color. I do know it definitely is not stock! Is there a way to tell or determine what the stall of a converter is? Is there any markings on them from manufacturer? Just curious. Thanks for the replies!

Re: Torque Converter help

A company called RECON paints theirs that color blue. RECON is pretty much a generic rebuilt converter....
