th350 trans cooler q?

ok, i had a nice built 350 put behind my lt1 last christmas. question is, it went intoa car that was previously auto, and its hooked into the stock trans cooler provision on the stock radiator. would it be better on the trans to install an aftermarket cooler to totally bypass the stocker? seems like the stock one would raise the temp of the tranny cause its going to run the same degree as the coolant in the radiator.

Re: th350 trans cooler q?

it is normally recomended to run it through both stock and an aftermaket cooler in series.. Normally from tranny to stock, then from stock to aftermarket, then back to tranny!

Heat is a killer and useing the most cooling items as possible is a good thing, BTW what stall are you running? I am suprised that you have run any stall in a 350 for a year on just the stock cooler!

Good luck!

its a 2000 stall non-lockup converter. tranny shop said it would be fine on a stock cooler, but i am adding a deep pan this week. i have daily driven it for about the last 3 months. sees about 200 miles of interstate driving every other week.
