Iam am in the process of doing the same swap, I know Iam going with the BMR crossmember and matching tourqe arm. also I went with the manual valve body so there is no kick-down cable. Iam still not sure about the flexplate though??? hope this helped a lil

I did this swap a few months back in my car...love it!!

The honest truth is though, if you dont yank the wheels now you wont with a TH350 either. The gearing in the 60e (assuming thats what you have) is better for launching than whats in the TH350. However the TH350 is alot easier to get to hold the power.

I had to change:
TH350 Trans - get the long tailshaft version so you can re-use the driveshaft
TH350 Convertor
TA - went with Chassis mounted TA
Crossmember - went with an aftermarket tubular style - some guys fab the stock crossmember
B&M Ratchet shifter - some rig the stock shifter to work
Was able to reuse the TCI flexplate I had
Used the stock A4 console, no problem
No retune needed or done

Think thats about it...cost about $1200 total for the swap. Check ls1tech, there is a great write up on it in the transmission section.

I think I'm going to swap in a th350 while I wait for my 4l60e to get back to me, I can get a good used th350 for $100

Yep that will work, now understand that crossmember will allow you to use your stock torque arm...will be a little cheaper that way. If I had done that I could have saved about $200.

I wouldnt suggest this...unless you have the crossmember sitting around, and the trans is a long tail shaft....why not right? Seems like alot of unnecessary work just to pull it back out when your 60e came back.

To each thier own though.
