TH350 Questions ???

I just picked up an exclent new TCi Th350 trans. only problem is it has a short tail shaft, and my car currently has a blown Long tail shaft TH350, my question is, how do I swap the short for the long, just remove the 4 bolts on the tail and change over or is there more to it than that, really difficult??? I'm thinking of just going to the local trans. shop and having them do the swap-install but I did a pretty bad hack job on fabbing the crossmember and dont want to hear a bunch of sh*t about it form them or have them try to sell me one. Just wondering, all your help is appreciated here. Thanks.

Re: TH350 Questions ???

you need to completely take both trans apart, the output shaft is the first thing that goes into the case when it is all taken apart, it does not come out from the back of the trans, the only thing you will get to if you just take off the tail housing is the speedo gear

Yeah, I can get a new HD Alumnium driveshaft made for about $200, not too sure what the rate will be to have the trans shafts changed? I have a $800 Dennys Driveshaft in there now, which is why I really did not want to change it, but cost effectiveness is my main concern here.
