th350 or 400 swap

thinking about going with a th350, but someone i know is selling a th400 so i'm not sure which one yet.

1. what can i do about my speedo? (since mine is electronic/hooks up to the tailshaft)

2. what is the deal with the long/short tailshaft tranny's? which do i need?

(i know i have to deal with the driveshaft and crossmember)

Re: th350 or 400 swap

I run a TH400 that Rossler built, he put in a VSS from a early 90s 454 SS pickup that made the tranny plug and play for me.
Dakota digital makes a converter for the cable driven speedos.

If you go with a TH350 the long tailshaft will allow you to use the stock driveshaft. A short tail TH350/400 will require a custom length DS.

I used a BMR conversion crossmember that mounts the torque arm on the crossmember.
They are a little pricey but I highly reccomend using one.
