TCC problem
TCC problem
On my '94 the torque converter hasn't locked up since I've had it. I took pin 11 on the blug plug that ran to the lockup solenoid and wired in a switch, one side to the solenoid, the other to ground. It didn't work, I tried ign power instead of ground because I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be used instead of ground, nothing. Does that mean my solenoid is bad? I have no codes that I know of.
Re: TCC problem
Dropped the pan and found out the solenoid is ok. Got voltage on Pin 11 when ign is on, and when I ground Pin 11 the solenoid engages. I checked voltage when I get up to speed and when the computer should ground the signal, and I get about .6V. I think it's supposed to be 0, and .6 is pretty close, but I don't know if that much of a difference would make the thing not work.
Re: TCC problem
make sure you have the correct year and correct wire in the transmission "activated".... a 94 4l60e is much different than a 95 or newer tranny.... a 95' has a Pulse Width Modulated TCC solenoid.
Re: TCC problem
I have checked with the transmission pan off, it sounds like the solenoid works fine, counted the wires, 12, (95 had 13) and the Pcm Vin the year code shows a 94. I checked the ground, seemed ok, maybe thinking perhaps bad flash. I'm waiting until I get a laptop battery so I can hook up and get a little better look at what the PCM says.
