Taking apart the pressure plate/bellhousing

After removing the trans I wiggled this fork type arm out of the t/o bearing which was inside the pp. This fork I assume is what the clutch pushes on to engade the clutch.

Is the t/o bearing suppose to always be inside the pp? when I got my new pp in the mail it had the lt4 t/o bearing already inside the center of the pp. Can I just leave it there and install accordingly?

What is the best way to reinstall the trans and put that fork thing back in?

The throwout bearing comes installed on the pressure plate. Just install it like it is. After putting the tranny back in, push up on the fork in the opposite direction you removed it. It will slide back over the throwout bearing. It's pretty hard to screw it up.

The T/O bearing is inside the pressure plate on the LT1. Unlike most cars LT1 Camaros pull on the T/O bearing to release the clutch.
