T56 rebuild, how to make it bulletproof?

First of all, I have searched everywhere for this information and can not find exactly what I need...

My transmission was stuck in fifth, so I will be getting that fixed, anyhow; I will also be getting all my synchros replaced...I will probably be getting a steel 3-4 shift fork(how important is this?), and how important are the billet keys?

Are their any other parts I should get replaced if I really want to make this transmission, ready to take a beating for a very long time?

Thanks in advance for the help

I really don't know what all would be involved, but try looking at sixspeedsinc.com. They are supposed to be the best in the business.

Look at G-Force's site for some ideas of the available upgrades. Bulletproof is an absolute term. You can break anything. What are the details of your combo? If you have a hi-po setup with a good clutch and sidestep it at 6,000rpm with sitcky tires you will need something very different than if it's a mild street car to get acceptable durability.

When I had mine done, the builder said it was good for up to about 600 FWHP; cost: $1200.

Taner blew up the g-force fully built trany all motor and they woudnt warranty it. It was supposed to hold 900-1000, it wouldn't hold 600hp.

Get new block rings, inspect the syncro rings and gears. Bullet keys are the way to go.

I would recommend SixSpeedsInc.com as well, they have the fastest ls1 t56 in the country right now, and they sponsored the LTX shootout. They know what they are dong, give Amber a call.
