T56 Fluid Change Questions

Ok guys, this is my first time that I'm going to change fluid on a manual transmission. Looks to be just drain and fill.

I wanna plan this out for next week when I'm at the shop, so I've got some questions in the meantime.

I assume that I'd need a grease gun in order to fill. Correct? Any recommendations for me to go out and pick one up? And what socket/hex size would I need to remove the drain and fill plugs? If I remember correctly it appeared to be a square fitting.

Thanks in advance!

Try this:http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/fbody/lubeoil.htm
I followed his rear fluid change guide, very handy.

Yeah, that install guide is about all you will need.
I got a fill tube thingy that screws on the ATF bottle but same idea. Getting the last little bit out of the bottle is a bit of work.
I would not recommmend RTV on the diff fill plug and trans drain and fill plugs. Those plugs seatso they seal fine, not like the plug in the diff cover. It needs sealant, the others don't.

Re: T56 Fluid Change Questions

Thanks guys, easy as hell.

Only issue is trying to squeeze the fluid in where the fill plug is located without a pump. Other than that, done deal already.
