Well, yesterday after work i go to my car start her up and proceed to put her in reverse but do not feel the engagement i normally feel when going into reverse, i push the gas and the car goes nowhere. Put her back in park and again feel no engagement, let off the brake and she starts rolling forward, wtf??? So i put it in drive and it bangs into gear and seems to drive ok but I have no reverse and she doesn't seem to recognize park. Just wanted to know if i'm screwed and tranny is gone,any ideas on what could be the problem??

well i would have it towed to a trannie shop because it sou nds like something is seriously messed up and since i have no knowledge of how to fix trannies i would just let them take care of it

 

Sounds like a classic case of low trans fluid, start the car, leave it in park and check the fluid on the trans dipstick. Very good chance its just low. I dunno about the park problem though now thats weird. Does it roll a couple inches then stop, or just keep rolling? If it keeps rolling i think you may have a problem with the shift linkage.

i dunno if this is it or not but when i first got my Z it seemed to have somnethihng like that and was nearly impossible to get into park or any gear unless u knew where they were, but it was just the linkage needed adjustment and eversince that ive had no probs goin into gear other than at wot... but thats another story, well gl fixing it and findin the problem
