T56 bolt to 6.0?

I'm researching the idea of putting a truck 6.0 engine into my '88 T/A. I've got an LT1/T56 in there now. Could I just swap my LT1 bellhousing for an LS1 bellhousing and bolt it right up to a 6.0?

I don't think it would work. The LS1's - T56 has a different clutch setup, and the input shaft is longer.
