T-56 Troubles - need advice!
T-56 Troubles - need advice!
Sorry, this may be a bit long winded, but please help if yo know anything about T-56's
Well as a few of you may know I have been having a lot of problems with my T-56 lately.
Earlier in the summer I blew up a clutch (it was origionally mis-diagnosed as a bad Slave cyl, but after I fiddled with that, Brat Motorsports finally pulled the tranny and discovered a blown clutch).
Well maybe 2 months of use later it started having problems again, not going into gear. Since there was a new clutch they replaced the master and slave cylinder, and they test drove it and it worked fine. I took it home, and 15 minutes into the trip it stopped working (wouldnt go into gear again, unless I rev matched it)
So I limp it back to Brat, and they pull the tranny *again*...brand new clutch with 2 spings broken, and hot spots all over the place. I even gave the thing a proper brakein, and didnt really race it (I was a bit hard, but not warranting that).
So I get a *new* clutch from McLeod (free thank god) and Brat installs it.
This time I dont even get the car back. Bill was driving it, and it worked fine for like a day, and then all of a sudden the same F-ing thing happens all over again. Bill even said the tranny locked up temporarily, yet the next day it would drive again.
So now the tranny has to come out AGAIN.
So this pretty much eliminated everything else....it has to be something internal.
So experts....what would it most likely be, and about how much should it cost to fix? Brat is pulling the tranny out for free, so all I will have to pay for is rebuild costs. Can anyone give me a general price range? Anything from one or two possible broken things to an entire tranny rebuild.
Thanks for your time guys!
Adam

Mods are minimal really, its still got the stock exaust even.
The clutch was a McLeod Performance Clutch, and PP.
I suppose it is always a possibility that they installed it wrong, but I doubt it because they are experienced mechanics, and Bill owns a 95 Formula M6, and they have done several clutch jobs before.
Luckely McLeod replaced the set for me, but I really hope the clutch is not messed up again because I really doubt they will do it again. This time the car was hardly driven, so I assume it will be ok. The problem will come if the clutch is fubar, because I am friends with Brat, and dont want to screw them, but I cant afford another clutch.
I guess I will wait and see when the tranny comes out.
On another forum someone suggested that perhaps some of the bearings in the tranny are out. Is this likely?

Which mccleod is it? Mods are very minimal as in intake and such? If you are running to much clutch and flat shifting alot it could be your prob. Something is deff not right but that amny clutches is hard to choke down it is the manufacturer.
The clutch was a McLeod Performance Clutch Disk, Pressure Plate, and Throughout bearing.
The mods to the car are in the sig.
If by flat shifting you mean fast race shifting, then yes I do a fair amount of that (when racing, and once in a while a quick one-two chirp on the street). But I didnt launch it more than a 2 or 3 times on the clutch that was just broken.
So I assume that something inside the transmission messed it up.
Also because we just put another new clutch in and it still had the same problems (not going into any gear without revmatching).
So any idea what it will most likely be in the tranny?
