t-56 grinds second gear at higher rpm's ---
Do I need to adjust something in there or is that normal? It goes into the gear, but lets me know it wasnt very happy by making a "grind" sound. Maybe I am not shifting HARD enough? I just dont want to break anything ... are these pretty strong?
I notice it shifting above 3500rpm, and thats the ONLY gear it does it in. I am using a short throw shifter.
Thanks ---

2nd-gear synchro is probably starting to wear out
. You "can" shift it harder, but you'll end up with a 2nd-gear that looks like the one that came out of my car
..... the synchro hub will be chewed (needs replacing) the blocker rings are toast (that's probably your only problem at the moment) and then if you're REALLY lucky like I was, you'll need to replace the actual GEAR because the teeth that the synchro hub engages on are chewed/sheared/missing!!
Oh, and by SLAMMING the gear, you also break the plastic pads on the 1-2 shifter fork
.
My advice: drive "nice" until you can afford a rebuild one day
