Swaped tq converter, few q's

last night i finished swaping the stock converter for a TCI, and the fluid is a brown-ish red. im going to change the filter and fluid in the pan, i put fresh fluid in the converter to "Prime" it.
is it safe to change the fluid? how can i tell if its "BURNT"??

thanks

Sure, you can check the fluid...

I wouldn't start the car up though, since you are going to change the fluid anyways, you might as well just check for a burnt smell once you drop the pan...

Make sure that when you drop the pan, you take the time to clean it out and clean off the magnet thing that is hooked to it. Some brake or parts cleaner will do the trick...

I also suggest buying one of these...

They are easy to install, and after you drop the pan, you will see why they are useful. Chances are you and/or the floor will be covered with fluid, since the level is slightly above the bottom of the pan...
