Which are stronger... 4:10s or 4:11s????
Re: Which are stronger... 4:10s or 4:11s????
You should try the search function, its there for a reason - this gets asked all the time. 4.11s are marginally stronger, since they have less teeth, therefore more material. If you can get them, great. If not, 4.10s should hold up just as well. The magic is in the setup.
Re: Which are stronger... 4:10s or 4:11s????
Chances are you will not have a choice.
On the stock 7.5" rear, 4.10's are the standard, with 41-10 teeth.
Strange, Motive, US Gear, Richmond, & OEM GM are all 4.10's.
I've never seen 4.11's for this rear...... many just call it the wrong number.
Does anyone make 4.11's for these rears?

Apparently "someone" does make true 4.11's (37 & 9 teeth) for the 7.5" 10-bolt, but I've never found out who
. Every time this subject comes up, I keep hoping someone will pop in with a LINK to 4.11's, but I haven't seen one yet
.
In theory though, the 4.11's should be stronger

Re: Which are stronger... 4:10s or 4:11s????
If you want stronger, a 9 inch or a 12 bolt is the way to go. Lots of people have posted 4.11s and really meant 4.10s when talking about the f-body. I've never seen any 7.5" 4.11 ratio ring & pinion gears.

yeah, its all in the way they are installed. I dont believe the guys that say, certain gears howl worse than others. I have had two diffrent brands, rode in cars with other brands. go with what ever, make sure someone gets the pinion angle set PERFECT. and they will last and not make alot of noise if ANY
