street twin, throwout bearing shot in less then a year??
street twin, throwout bearing shot in less then a year??
Here is my story, not bashing mcleod becuase I don't have the full story nor the ending to it yet but I want to get some opinions.
I ordered a street twin clutch assembly about a year ago. My mechanic installed it, and it was great. No noise, awesome grip, and just a fantastic setup. Well, about a week ago, the car started making a loud chatter and it got worse so i parked the car and didn't drive it until my mechanic could look at it. He diagnosed it as the throwout bearing, which comes with the street twin assembly. I don't understand, I haven't drove the car much and haven't even taking it to the track or even sprayed it(the nitrous has been off for the past year), it's been babied. I left mcleod an email message about the situation since their phone was busy. I'm hoping this is covered under warranty. Has anyone dealt with mcleod for this type of problem or something similar, and is there a way to install the throwout bearing "wrong" so it would actually be the shop's fault, my mechanic seems pretty competant though. I don't know, this sucks

i had a problem where i cracked my single disc setup, and it heated and wore the pressure plate excessively, so i called them up they where very nice, i forgot who i talked to though. They worked with me, i sent it back got a call it was there fault and shipped me a brand new clutch and pressure plate, there flywheel i had was fine. no problems. they where fast about turning it around as well. sorry to hear about your street twin i hope everything turns out good.
