street-twin assembly

I need to start writing this stuff down. I cant get hold of anyone at Mcleod. When torquing the floater you should apply torque untill you have so much clearance. Anyone remember what that clearance should be between the floater and the disk? Then the pressure plate, that is torqued to 30lbs, correct?

You dont have to adjust or measure clearance w/ the street twin, mcleod deos that for you. Just reassemble the clutch the exact way you took it apart (i.e.- keep the shims w/ the same bolts). The floater bolts should be torqued to 20-24 ft-lbs and use lock-tite on them. As for the pressure plate, tighten the nuts all the way it down in a star pattern (going only a few turns at a time and keep repeating it). Them back of each nut one at a time and torque to 30-34 ft-lbs (lock-tite is not needed on the pressure plate).

No , spacers (washers) are used to create the clearance. .020-.025 should just slip in.

Floater straps 20-25#
