I have a vibration (engine RPM related not speed).

1500 - 2200 RPM strongest viberation while in park.

1. Went to the transmission people and told me that its my torque converter.

2. Went to a performance shop and told me that its my injector because its missing on low rpms thats why its vibrating. (conclusion was made because opti/wires/plugs/waterpump were replaced two weeks ago).

So I decided just to do both! INJECTORS AND TORQUE CONVERTER.

the big question is, HoW much should I expect to pay someone professionally to replace the torque converter (parts and labor). How much should I expect to pay someone to replace the injectors(labor only).

1. parts/labor for torque converter replacement?
2. labor for injectors replacement
3. which injectors set should I get for a stock 1994 Z28 A4.

Give us some details on what type of car and what mods - if you have a miuss you are going to be throwing some codes!

If the torque converter is that bad (loose or out of balance) , I suspect the car would be undrivable at higher RPMs!

Don't throw $$ at it without getting a COMPETENT diagnostic evaluation from a COMPETENT shop! (Unless you just happent to have some $$ laying around collecting dust!)

 

Thanks man. I just noticed that if i push the pedal all the way to the floor (car moving) it feels like the rpm does not want to go pass 2500 RPM. I dont trust my dealership, i took it there and they said that they checked all the injectors and they said that they were good, but a guy that used to work there knew the technician that work on my car and told me that he is lazy. Also the dealership told me that they can not put it on the computer or scan it for codes since its OBD1. is this true?

so if I have a miss, definetely for sure the car to throw codes right?

I forgot to mention, I have a 1994 Z28 completely stock except for the k&N air filter and a rebuild tranny with a shift kit from the previous owner. owned it for a month and a half currently with 76K on it.

 

also my exhaust sound changes to lilttle pop pop sounds but frequent so you have to listen to it carefully so you can hear the "pop" sound. this happens while the car is parked and after 1500 rpm. somebody out there got to know this, I am ready to spend money on the torque converter but if somebody can let me know about the torque converter before i spend my money would be nice.

if its the torque converter (according to the tranny shop) why is it only doing it after 1500 rpm and feeling more vibration at 2200 rpm? can somebody explain this to me please. thanks
