Ive looked through a few threads, and saw roughly 2.5-2.75 quarts of oil to add after the break-in of the 12 bolt. Since i have not really been swapping to much oil in 12 bolts recently, i just wanted to know what weight to use, 80W-90? and also i understand you need the GM additive? could you get this at a pep-boys, or somewhere like thunder? thx for the help! im a noobie when it comes to gear fluid...

 

80w-90 will probably work. 10 bolts use 75w-80 I think. It will probably use around 2-3 quarts. My 10 bolt used about 1.75 quarts. Yes you need the posi additive, otherwise the posi will be eaten up in no time. You can get this stuff at any old place, NAPA, Advanced, those places.

 

Strange calls for 2.5 qts of dino fluid and I use the GM additive...
