STR - Tradeoffs

So going to a higher STR will give you more tire shredding torque off the line... but I'm wondering if there are any benfits to going to a lower STR rating.

IE. 2.0 Vs 2.5 Vs 3.0 STR's.

Is there less/more heat generated? Does it run more efficiently? Does it affect the "Feel" of the converter at any point?

Strickly speaking in relation to the STR, not the stall speed or any other factors.
