www.installuniversity.com Thats what im using to do mine at this very moment

Im guessing it would be pretty hard to do with out a lift. I am using a lift at school and it seems to make it a lot easier.

Lift?! Oh I wish I was so lucky! I did the T56 swap with jackstands...what a PITA! Haha, a clutch swap isn't too bad though, I like the site Mavrick listed above.

Well i have done it twice in the last 6 months. I did it with jack stands also. It's really not that hard. The hardest part probably is putting the tranny back in. Trying to get it to go all the way in. I was never able to do this and had about a 1/4inch distance from the tranny to the bell housing. I had to use the bolts to pull it together. I would replace the Pilot bearing with a bushing if i were you. Also check the rear main seal for leakage. You can either leave the shifter on or take it off. I have done it both ways. It makes things a lot easier if you take it off though. Either put the bolts into baggies and mark the bags, or you can do what i do and try to put as many of the bolts back into where they came from after you got the part off. I find this way a lot easier. Good luck.

Man, with a lift, it is sooo easy. Just make sure you replace your rear main seal while you're in there and your pilot bushing. You might want to replace your trans mount with a poly one, too. Everything is pretty much self explanatory. You will need like 2-3 feet of extensions to get to the top trans-to-bellhousing bolt. A shop manual helps, especially for torque specs. Just take your time and make sure you aren't doing things out of order, which will cause a headache. Also, make sure you have air tools (if your friend has a lift, I'm guessing he has air tools). At work, I used to change clutches by myself with a lift in about 20 minutes. I did my own clutch in my garage at home, with jackstands, and that took the better part of the day with my girlfriend helping me. Do the math, and thank god you have a lift

Yes the flywheel is very easy to get off. There is only 6 bolts. You might have to hold the crank pully depending on how tight they are. Or if you have a impact gun that works the best to get them off. Thats what i used. After you have the clutch off and presure plate there is nothing between the flywheel. I was unable to get the bushing from the dealership. But i got it from autozone. If they say they don't make it for your year ask the for one off a 91 z28. It is the same part. They also should have a rear main there. But i got mine from the dealership.

The pilot bushing I got was from Advance Auto and was $3.95. Why are you changing the flywheel? And like mentioned above, an impact makes things sooo much easier. Remember the flywheels bolts go back on at 74 ft-lbs, IIRC. Good luck!

Well, you need to take your flywheel off to put in a new rear main seal and to put in a new pilot bushing. You also need to take the flywheel to a local machine shop and have it surfaced. I had mine done for about $30 and they did it in two hours. I just putzed around at the mall while I was waiting.

Spec Stage 2

i will be installing a SPEC stage 2 in my 94 camaro tommorrow this will be my first time as well. I am looking on www.installuniversity.com and i found "mcleod clutch install". and this one is done on a 99SS does anyone know what may be different when i am doing mine ?

I had a centerforce clutch in there before and it is gone after 30,000 miles. I wonder if the SPEC stage 2 will be a better clutch? I have heard that it is a good choice.
