Stall convertors on the Dyno

How much horsepower will be lost on the dyno because of the stall convertor? If any. My numbers seem low. I've got a 3600 stall and could not keep it locked in 3rd gear. Just wondering if the convertor could cause the low numbers.

Re: Stall convertors on the Dyno

A high stall will cause very inaccurate chassis dyno readings. However, the dyno is still useful as a tuning tool. IOW, the numbers, while not "accurate" are quite reproducible.

I'm mainly using the dyno and Wideband for tuning....my numbers just were not very impressive. Air\fuel looked good though.

Is it possible to loose 50+HP and 50+ TQ because of a stall and unlocked convertor?
