stall converter not working on dyno

i have a turbo 400 in my car 3200 pi converter. First pull tourque looked good, hp was kind of low everthing else looked good. Second pull sprayed 300 shot at it lasted about 3 seconds wheel speed about topped out at 78 mph, hp went up about 200 hp but torque only about 65ft-lbs. Thiird pull was the same as the second. The car works just fine on the streat. Why is this happining? Is there something wrong with the dyno? My friend's car did the same thing on the same dyno, we have very similar stalls and gears.

Re: stall converter not working on dyno

High stall converters do not give accurate numbers on a chassis dyno. It's more than just the "slip" you see at the big end of the track, but as to exactly what is happening I'd also like to know. Still useful for tuning though.
