Spec 4, do I really need a new flywheel?

First I have heard of stage 3 spec screwing up. So could you let me know if you have ever heard of stage 4 specs having problems. Anyhow do I really need a new $300 flywheel? Are our stock flywheels really known for shattering? Has anyone actually seen our flywheels shatter? Also I can use the autozone/oreilly's pressure plate with this right? Thanks for any help.

i havent heard anyhting about the flywheels cracking.

just remember one thing..you can have the baddest @ssed clutch disc but if the pressure plate cant clamp the clutch to the flywheel, then your gonna burn it up..

your making some smoke under the hood. dont make it under the car

Spec_3 with Alum fly behind a 383 - D1 97ss Camaro. Replaced one clutch due to wear. 5 years in the running.

#1, your new clutch disc really needs a nice clean surface.
#2, you're in there anyway, why not put it in? I have the SPEC 4 clutch and love it. I also bought, after 3 years, a SPEC Billet Flywheel. It's a bit heavier than the stock one but that's good for drag racing anyway.
