Lightbulb Something ya might think about....

Well just before ordering a SPEC stage 4 clutch I called the guy recomended to put it in. He said great I can install that just fine but he explained to me how really iffy he felt about the stock rear end holding up to it. He told me that a guy he does work for ripped out 3 rear ends using the stage 4. So I thought about it and ordered the stage 3 b/c my car is a every day driver and so I wanted a clutch with some play in it from what I understand the stage 4 has no play and would be a pain in tha you know what in traffic. I guess what I'm saying is that if you get a SPEC clutch or any other great aftermarket parts put alot of reason in your purchase b/c the morning ride to work with hot coffee in your hand is not always gonna be the race you have always dreamed of. LOL

Sorry to burst your bubble, but teh spec 3 could very easily destroy your rear as well. Our rears are very weak and even the stock clutch has been known to destroy them quite often. The spec 3 is pretty strong in itself and alot harder on the rear than stock just like the spec 4 or the mcleods. If you are going to get a high performance clutch you can basically just expect your rear to keep breaking until you get a 12 bolt rear! Check my sig you'll see that I have a mcleod ST and am now looking at ordering a Strange 12 bolt. My rear lasted less than 250 easy driving miles before it broke. I maen EASY as I was still breaking the clutch in when it broke the rear.
