What is the part that is a black box shape and has a lot of wires coming from it to the fuse block behind the drivers side headlight where the green circle is in the picture above?? The arrow is pointing to the edge of it that you can barely see, but on non-ram air cars, it attaches to the air intake in that corner. On ram-air cars, it attaches to a plastic oddly shaped triangle to plug up the hole where the cold air intake would go down through. I converted to ram-air setup, and I am looking to find that plastic piece that plugs up that area, but do not know what its called or even what the part it holds is called. Any ideas??

Given it's location and the fact that you have a Firebird, I would say it is the headlamp control module. It's normally attached to the intake air duct.

 

yeah that part was attached to the air intake duct, but i removed that a long time ago in favor of an SLP air intake, and then just removed that 2 days ago and converted to a ram air setup to make my new hood functional...i now want to locate the plastic panel that it attaches to that came stock in Trans Ams with ram-air so that i can plug up that hole...any ideas what that piece would be called or where to find it?

after some searching, its confirmed that is the headlight control module...thanks shoebox
now i just need to find that mounting plate for it...
