Most likely the 2-4 band.

2-4 Band

I just curious, you say it is the 2-4 band causing a sloppy shift. from 2-3 gear. But what if when it stops shifting from second gear to third to fourth because of the sloppy shift. Would you say time for a rebuild, or band replacement?

Sounds like potential rebuild time.

What brand torque converter are you using?, and what stall & diameter? and what rear end gear ratio are you running? I can be of help here, let me know the above please.
but he's not the original guy with the problem

Does anyone else find it odd he is bounceing the limiter at only 80 mph in 2ed? Mine don't hit 3rd till 90~. Do you have 3.23s?
