Exclamation SLP Shifter

Quick, easy question.... I was considering buying the short-throw shifter that SLP sells for 100 bux and was wondering if it has the same throw distance and qaulity as some of the other more expensive shifters(B&M,Hurst,Etc.). Just wondering if its worth throwing down the extra cash for a differnt shifter or if the SLP One is just as good. Thanx for all advice in advance......

Re: SLP Shifter

I have owned the SLP shifter before. I bought a Pro 5.0 thinking there's a big difference between the two. Sometimes I think I might have wasted my money.

The SLP shifter is a good piece. The only difference being the base isn't a solid block of aluminum and it doesn't have adjustable stops. No biggie.

Re: SLP Shifter

The SLP requires you to reuse the stock lever, which has the rubber bushing in it that contributes to the "sloppy" feel. The SLP unit is a copy of the Hurst Competition Plus, but has a thinner cover plate than the Hurst as well - I've compared the SLP and the Hurst side-by-side. I found the Pro 5.0 to be significantly better than the Competition Plus (back when the car had the T56).

Re: SLP Shifter

I have an SLP that came with my car when I bought it. I would sell it to you for $50. I have a ripper now that I like better but I can't compare the SLP to stock (since I have never had one). I can give you picks if you want. Let me know if you want it.

Re: SLP Shifter

in a way that package is a waste...

reason for me being, i like my round ****..so a $40 H engraved **** is pointless. second i have directions on how to do $25 skip shift module for less than $1 on my webpage (signature).

and third...i have a short stick i machined...it has an option of 2 lenghts...
selling the short stick for a good price and it will fit stock, factory Hurst, and SLP shifters. pics are also on my page.
