Slipping

HI
My 94 LT1, 4sp Auto has started to slip badly in 3rd an 4th. 1st to 2nd shift is fine. Ran a scan using Scan9495 , ( BTW this is a great piece of software!!) there were no trouble codes on an idle check nor did any show on a short road test.

I've checked fluid , level is OK and doesn't smell burnt and is pretty clear.

My question is, are there any numbers on the scan log that will give me an indication of what the problem might be, or by elimination, what the problem isn't?

I am hoping it is an electronics/electrical problem that might be solved without major surgery .

Any help will be much appreciated.

Re: Slipping

Does it feel like it is actually shifting into 3rd....4th....? I got that same sense on my truck. No codes thrown. Turned out to be the shift solenoid. I replaced them both (there is 1 for 1-2 shift and 1 for 3-4 shift).

Re: Slipping

Isn't there a seperate trans tab in Scan9495? Did you run that?

The author of Scan9495 is a member here. Hopefully he will stop by and take a look at this.
