Slave Cylinder PROBLEMS...Please HELP
Well I got a street twin from a friend of mine and put it in. Everything was fine and dandy then I went to bleed the system since I got a new master. I did it the way your supposed to(I think) Pushing in the rod with your hand alot of times. Well after about 20 pumps it was getting hard to push then all of a sudden BAM it locks up...I mean cant move it, put the rod on the ground and push and push and PUSH and it doesnt move. So I took off the slave and pushed all the fluid out of it, reattached it and tried pumping it again...same thing happended was pumping fine a BAM locks up again. I do this about 5 more times before I start to get mad. so I went and got a new slave (Since master is new) Started to bleed it and wouldnt you know...IT LOCKS UP AGAIN!!! So I take it off and push all the fluid out again, reattach it and decided to try to pump the clutch pedal to bleed it. Now I have 1/2 a pedal and a tranny that wont go into gear. Has anyone ever heard of this problem with a slave locking up? How do I get this thing blead so I can finally drive my car?

Standard operations for bleeding the clutch hydraulic system:
Loosen clutch maser cylinder nuts
Clean dirt/grease from the resivoir cap to ensure it stays clean
remove resivoir cap and diaphragm
wrap a piece of wire around the left hand hood strut bracket, allow the wire to be accessed inside the engine bay underneath the vehicle.
raise and support the vehicle.
Remove actuator cylinder nuts.
Remove actuator cylinder.
Retain actuator cylinder in engine compartment using wire previously mentioned.
Lower vehicle.
Grasp actuator cylinder and depress hydraulic actuator cylinder pushrod approx 20mm (.787") into the cylinder bore, hold position.
Install diaphragm and resivoir cap while still holding actuator pushrod.
Release actuator cylinder pushrod.
Hold actuator cylinder vertically with the pushrod end facing down. (Actuator cylinder must be lower then the master cylinder)
Press pushrod into actuator cylinder bore with short 10mm strokes (.390")
Master cylinder resivoir should be free of bubbles. Continue until bubbles are no longer present.
Raise vehicle and support.
Remove actuator cylinder from wire, and install. Tighten nuts.
Lower vehicle.
Remove ire.
Install master cylinder bolts.
Perhaps your problem is still in the bleed procedure. What fluid are you using? Are you keeping it covered well? I know a lot of this is obvious, but it's scary to see how often one little mistake is made.
