I just lost third gear and overdrive on my 700R4. It was rebuild around 99 I think. It just slips and the engine revs up. 1st and 2nd gear work good.

Does it sound like the clutch pack or could it be something else?

Can I replace just the bad parts and get a couple more years out of it?

I want to replace it with a T56, but now is a bad time. Should I suck it up and get the T56, or can I keep the 700R4 alive for a little longer cheaply?

The only way you will really know whats up with it is to take it apart and inspect it.

You have lost the 3-4 clutch pack, which is common on these units. If I can be of help, let me know?
