Shifter popping out of 3rd?!?

Got a Pro 5.0 shifter. Installed it correctly, was working fine for a couple of weeks. Now when I shift from second to third and take my hand of right away, she'll pop into neutral. Anyone experience this before?

The problem is not the shifter , the fork is bad for 3rd&4th gear .

Re: Shifter popping out of 3rd?!?

you may want to try adjusting the stops before gettting a new synchro. take off the shift boot and you can asjust the front one from there, if you dont have enough room youll have to pull off the console then. When i installed mine i had the stops too short, but if i held it in place it wouldnt pop out, and now i have no problems at all. If backing out the front stop does not end your problem, its your synchro...and mine was only poping out of 3rd too, not 1st and 5th also, and the stop was the problem..try that, and then if that isnt it, your looking at some expesive work..

I secind the shift for possibility, if you adjust the stops back a little and it still does it, then it is time for a tranny rebuild. I did the same thing, nut second gear
