Shift Too Early?

just bought a '93 lt1 with a shift kit, and it seems to shift early into 2nd, shifts hard at about 1500, basically right after i accel, the rest of the gears seem to shift out as usual. is this normal and if not what can i do?

Make sure that the TV cable is adjusted correctly. The TV cable should be tight at WOT, or a 1/16" (one click) of play at the most. Do this first and see what happens. Do you know which valve body kit is installed?

yes it did as far as I'm concerned, it shifts 1-2 at about 18-20mph and at higher rpms, instead of immediately. Thanks a lot man.
