Re: shift kit

i went with the transgo shift kit and i love it. You can basically choose the firmness of your shifts and if you go all out, your car will chirp second everytime... even at partial throttle. The only thing i can say is that if you opt to have someone else do it for you, dont go to aamco!!! they told me that theyve done a million of them. Five hours after i drop off my car however, they tell me that it wont go into 1st gear. My options were to take the car as is, free of charge (1st gear being MIA), or pay to have the tranny rebuilt. 1700 bucks later and i have my shift kit.... and a new tranny... *******s...

Re: shift kit

I second the whole aamco thing. When I first bought my TA it had a AAMCO rebuild 8 months prior and had only been driven 2000 miles since the rebuild. 1 month after buying the car it grinds going into first, 2nd slips and i lose OD completly. It came with a 1 year,12,000 mile warranty so I took it back to them. Thank god the warranty was transferable with ownership but they took it in, said it needed a rebuild, kept it for 6 weeks and never called me back! I had to call everyday to get them to get working on it. I finally get it back and turns out they just replaced some broken clip or something!!!! It's been fine since and Im hoping it stays that way. I couldn't afford a rebuild right now

Re: shift kit

I do highly recommend the trans cooler. However it is not really needed with the addition of a shift-kit. It will keep your tranny temps down and will help extend the overall life of the tranny. If u ever get an aftermarket stall converter then YES u do NEED the trans cooler. I installed my shift kit by myself while the tranny was out of the car. Along with my mods in sig I can chirp my Nittos all day long at just part throttle. Its for sure a mod that I would get. I went with the B&M trans-pak and used the highest possible setting. Peace, Dustin.
