Most places tend to charge right around 200, anywhere from 150-250 seems pretty fair for a good install.

200 seems to be the going rate. But remember, thats with your parts, including ring, pinion, carrier bearings, pinion bearings, crush sleave, seals, etc. If you drop of the car with a ring and pinion only, expect the total to be over 300.

Do not go for whoever is the cheapest. I would go for whoever has the most experience in your town.

I know a guy who owns his own shop, and he told me that it's usually close to $500. Keep in mind that that includes the parts as well. Ring & pinion, rebuild kit, gear oil... Seems a touch steep to me, but he does good work.

Seems about right--190 for ring and pinion, 90 for install kit, 200 for labor, 20 for fluid, tax etc....

That is actually a pretty good price. Do you know what brand gears he uses?
