Check out our Supporting Advertiser Index.

I have used Richmond gears in many cars without problems. Of course a bad setup will shorten the life of any gearset.

On another note, being a drivetrain question, it belongs in that forum. Moving there now.

Thanks.

If you do a search most people will tell you to stay away from Richmonds because of the gear whine. Although I never researched it, the gears may whine based on the cut of the teeth and nickel content of the metal.

I purchased a set of Richmonds (3.42, 2 series) and had them installed by a reputable installer. They do whine, but not overly intrusive

I bought mine from CMotorsports and at they time they had the best price for both the gears and the install package.

I have used a number of sets in different cars over the years. No problems with them. It is very difficult to set up a rear end to be as quiet as a factory rear, no matter what gears you use.

yeah, they set mine up twice, now the whine is only between 50-60 mph in 6th. other than that, no whine. unfortunately with the narrow "freeways" and slow-*** drivers here, that means i'm listening to it often.
