Reverse syncro problem???

I'm experiencing some problems with reverse in my 97' Z28 (6 speed manual). I've been reading some posts in the forum looking for anyone that has experienced a problem like I'm having. Basically, it doesn't seem to want to go into Reverse a lot of the time...I have to sort of force it into reverse in most cases. Additionally, it's slipped out of reverse on me a few times...I'll be backing up, and suddenly it will jump out of reverse and make a grinding noise. All other gears work perfectly...shifts smooth, never any problems getting it to go into or stay in a forward gear. The car just had a new clutch installed less than 1,000 miles ago. So knowing that the clutch is new, most of what I've been reading leads me to believe that this could be a problem related to the Reverse gear syncronizer...do you guys agree that this syncro could be the likely culprit? I'll probably just take it in somewhere to have it looked at, but I'd like to have a general idea of what the problem could be prior to taking it anywhere. Thanks everyone.
