Reverse Lockout won't work on 96 TA after M6 conversion

Recently had my 4L60E swapped out for a D&D T56 Tranny. Everything went smoothly except that the guys at the shop could not get the reverse lockout to work. They ended up just taking the locking module out and putting in a spring so I could feel some kinda click or pressure when moving into reverse. They checked for 12v and ground and it was getting power fine. They hooked the light green wire to the blue port 6 on the PCM plug, just as the 94-97 M6 conv guide had said. Anyone know if the OBDII 96 and 97 cars needed to have something different done to make it work right?

Also I updated the PCM to a 96 M6 stock program. Cool thing is that my speedo seems to only be off by 3-4 mph, not bad at all!

I don't think it's different between the years (please correct me if I'm wrong). If it has power and ground, it would lead me to believe the lockout is bad. BTW, you can push past the lockout with a little effort. I did the swap on my 94 and have yet to wire up my reverse lockout (waiting to one day just get a manual harness to get rid of a few splices/hacks in mine from my younger days)

I would also check the lockout solenoid. You can do this by simply hooking up 12v of power to it and seeing if it clicks. If not, its bad. If so, then it is most likely a wiring problem.

For wiring:
- You can for sure take 12v switched off either the pink wire on the original 4l60E wiring harness plug (the one with like 12 pins). It should be connected to pin E on this connector. Or, take it directly from the pink wire coming out of the connector sitting on the passenger fenderwell. It is the right one, when looking at it from the front of the car (there are 2 connectors, right in front of the PCM on the fenderwell).
- Pin 6 on the blue PCM connector is actually the brown wire (pin U) on the same tranny connector. Pin B on the pigtail goes to pink, pin A goes to brown.

And, of course, your last problem could be the PCM.

Sorry if its a little confusing. I have the factory manuals and have gone over the schematics so I only have to wire it up once when I finally get around to the conversion. Good luck!

Thanks guys. We did test the solenoid by plugging it directly into the battery and it worked. So the wiring must be off somehow. I'll bring along your suggestions next time I am at the shop.
