Reverse engages only with car off?

After the last track outing I noticed my car won't go into reverse while the car is on. It goes in very easy if I turn the car off but just doesn't budge when the car is on. Tried disconnecting the reverse lockout switch and still nothing. Also the gears seem to go in a little harder than usual but never give me problems after a WOT pass. Any ideas?

Bleed the clutch master and slave cylinders.

I installed a new slave cylinder and bled the system but im not sure why it would cause the car not to engage reverse when the car is on. Are the hydraulics in any way affected when the car is turned on, Im thinking it could be something electrical but Im no expert.

Yesterday the car went into reverse one time but after than it wouldnt budge again. Could a lack of tranny fluid cause this....when I had the clutch installed it leaked a lot of fluid but haven't had time to check it?

I don't really drive the car much but it felt real smooth when I drove it, all gears engaged except for reverse of course. Its got me puzzled!!!

It sounds like your clutch is not disengaging completely. That why it was suggested you bleed the hydraulics. The hydraulics aren't affected by the car running or not. To fix it you need to figure out why the clutch isn't disengaging completely. You should check the transmission fluid. I don't think that's the problem but you can damage the transmission running it low.

Im stumped as to why reverse only engages when the car is turned off. Im gonna bleed the system again and check the fluid level again; hopefully it fixes the problem.
