Reusing a Disc?

My Spec 2 crapped out after 3,000 miles. Is it the disk or the pressure plate that wears out?

If it's the pressure plate, would I be able to buy the Autozone Clutch kit and keep my Spec 2 disk?

A pressure plate would only crap out in 3,000 miles if it was faulty. More likely the disc failed due to abuse.

So is there a chance the pressure plate can be reused?

Some machine shops can resurface pressure plates.
