My turn at a ticking thread. When braking hard and clutch not pushed in.

Like it says. Only when im braking and not pushing the clutch in. It does not do it everytime when braking hard, BUT it does it only when braking hard...if that makes sense

anyway....being how at this point I can only do it when not touching the clutch, i'm assuming clutch/trans. related. Any ideas guys??

Its a stock, resurfaced flywheel, and a RAM clutch...about 6000 miles on them.

I would be checking out the brake system; why do you feel it's the clutch/tranny?

because I could only do it when not pushing the clutch in. it ALMOST sounded like something was catching the teeth of the flywheel....if that gives any idea of what kind of sound it is. It would get slower as the car slowed down. I took the dust/inspection cover off(its kind of "ghetto rigged" in place) because I wasn't sure if it was catching on something. I haven't been able to duplicate the sound with it off, so who knows.
