Is replacing driveshafts difficult?

Is replacing driveshafts difficult?

I have an aluminum driveshaft waiting to install on my Z. I was wondering if it can be done on jackstands/ramps. What all do I need to disconnect? (torque arm, axle, etc.)

Thanks.

The only trick to it is to avoid overtightening the U-bolts. 20ft-lbs is right.

The answer to your first question is yes and make sure the car is firmly blocked so that it can't roll.
All you need to do is unbolt the bolts clamping the u-joint to the yoke on the front of the rear end. Then slide the driveshaft out of the transmission. Reverse to install the new shaft using the torques that Rich mentioned.
