removing trans.

I pulled the engine and tranny out the bottom, and I don't want to screw anything up removing the tranny. Is it best to remove the tranny from the bellhousing or the bellhousing off the block? lt seems like the best way to do it is remove the trany from the bellhousing, but how do you get to that clutch fork bolt? not much room because it will only slide back an inch or so. or is there an easier way??

Remove the tranny from the bell housing. As far as the clutch fork, unbolt the clutch slave cylinder from the bellhousing. Then grab the end of the clutch fork and pull it out and back, this will disengage the fork from the throwout bearing. The fork won't come completely out, but it pulls back a couple of inches to disengage. Now you can remove the tranny.
